Encapsulated and potted transformers manufactured by Comelit can be made to standard designs or to the customer's own specification and housing. Comelit have the ability to mould specialised housing, to incorporate contacts, flying leads etc.
Reduced Assembly Time & Cost
It is important to remember that Comelit's ability to insert terminal pins to the customer's desired length, reduces assembly time for the customer later in the assembly process, as there is no need to crop leads. An additional benefit is the reduced likelihood of stress fracture in the solder joint.
The fully automated encapsulation line at Comelit uses the specially formulated encapsulation material developed by Comelit, thus making sure that all encapsulated products leave the production line free of voids, thereby ensuring that insulation of the encapsulated part conforms to the design specification.
Reduced Drying Time and Low Noise
The use of polyurethane resin and not epoxy means a large reduction in drying time, for example the encapsulation time is 1.5 seconds for a 1.5 Va transformer. This fast encapsulation time ensures that all encapsulated products are produced at very high speed. We are able to produce products with localised encapsulation areas e.g. audio transformer with encapsulation at the centre of the transformer instead of using bolts and clamps, this method has the additional benefit of manufacturing a toroidal transformer with very low noise.
